Lǐ n felt incredibly wronged. Since childhood, when had his brother ever yelled at him like this No matter how much trouble he got into, his brother never even raised his voice at him. Now, because of this randomly appearing ugly girl, his brother was actually yelling at him!

He felt extremely unbalanced, but he didn’t dare to resist either. Firstly, he knew that he was in the wrong, and secondly, his furious brother was truly terrifying. His expression when angry could rival their father’s when displeased. He pursed his lips tightly and ran to call for a driver.

The commotion they caused outside naturally alarmed those inside the house. Gu Xiubei and Lǐ Hào Nan hurried out of the house before everyone else, just in time to see Lǐ Yì trying to put a bleeding Yán Luòxī into the car.

Gu Xiubei was shocked to no end; her face paled as she trembled and asked, "Lǐ Yì, what's going on What happened to Luòxī"

Lǐ Yì paused in his tracks, uttering an “Ah” twice. "She… fell off the rockery. I need to take her to the hospital…" Usually smooth-talking as he was, even he felt that this lie was rather insubstantial and despicable, but regarding his younger brother, there was nothing else for it.

Lǐ Hào Nan sized up Yán Luòxī from top to bottom. Her injuries appeared alarming, but they only affected her skin; the blood seeping out of the corner of her mouth, however, could not help but raise concern. He asked gently, "Girlie, do you feel any discomfort"

Yán Luòxī couldn’t remain silent in front of Lǐ Hào Nan’s imposing figure and pouted, “I lost a tooth!” Soon after noticing the draft from her mouth felt extremely unsightly, she covered it with both hands and burst into tears.

Lǐ Hào Nan heard her crying without any difficulty, knowing that she wasn’t seriously hurt. He waved his hand to summon one of their household maids for an emergency first aid kit and instructed them to rinse her mouth out and treat the wounds briefly.

Gu Xiaobei, seeing that Yan Luoxi was not seriously injured, heaved a long sigh of relief. Once she calmed down, she began to investigate the cause of the incident. As a mother who knows her child best, she turned to Li An and asked, "Tell me, what exactly happened"

"We were playing hide-and-seek. She got lost in the garden, and then the Samoyed started chasing her for some reason. She tried to climb onto the rockery to hide from the dog but ended up falling down." Li An blinked his big innocent eyes and helplessly shrugged his shoulders, making it seem like he had nothing to do with what happened.

Gu Xiaobei knew that things could not be as simple as they appeared. She frowned and looked at Shao Meizhuo, "Meizhuo, tell me the truth, what actually happened"

Shao Meizhuo didn’t speak; instead, she glanced surreptitiously at Li An with her big eyes, clearly trying to protect him.

Lǐ Huánán, seeing through everything, felt frustrated and asked in a stern tone, "Meizhuo, tell the truth!"

Even though Shao Meizhuo was not afraid of anything or anyone, she feared Lǐ Huánán. The truth soon came out as she narrated without taking sides.

Gu Xiaobei was so angry that she trembled with rage. She knew Li An could be mischievous and naughty but never imagined he would be this malicious. She raised her hand and started hitting Li An aimlessly, "You wicked child… how can you be so unreasonable…you really want to drive me to my grave… it’s all because I spoiled you too much…"

Li An, knowing that he was in the wrong, clumsily dodged while trying not to argue.

Lǐ Huánán's face turned green with anger. Besides being furious, he also felt extremely embarrassed and guilty; Yan Luoxi was his adopted child who had been so badly treated on her first day at their home. This made him feel truly remorseful towards the deceased Yán Yongsheng.

He could have refused to adopt Yan Luoxi initially, but once he did, he couldn't mistreat the child. Seeing Gu Xiaobei's tear-filled eyes from being bullied by Li An, he felt a pang of sympathy.

"You rest for now, I'll take care of it!" When it came to disciplining their son, Li Haonan was also considerate towards his wife. He reached out and grabbed the collar of his son's shirt; with his large palm raised, he started raining down heavy blows on Li An's backside.

Li An had just been fantasizing that under his mother’s weak punches, he could get away with this. Now seeing his father about to unleash a full-on assault, he quickly let out a howl for help, knowing that reinforcements were nearby.

The first person who couldn't hold back was Li Haonan's best friend, Xian Zhiming.

Xian Zhiming had been with Li Haonan since his youth, serving as his personal bodyguard. Though he seemed to be a rough and reckless man, in reality, few people caught his eye. Over the years, he hadn't married and treated Li Haonan's two children like his own.

Among these two kids, Xian Zhiming liked the mischievous Li An more. Li Yi was perfect in every way but his deep-seated nature made him seem distant and hard to approach, not necessarily cold, just aloof, creating a distance with everyone around him that Li An didn't have. Though Li An could be mischievously clever, he was lively, warm-hearted, and considerate.

When Li Haonan got angry, it was truly terrifying; no one dared to intervene easily. Furthermore, as everyone thought Li An had been too naughty and should be disciplined, they all stood by with folded arms, watching the scene unfold with amusement.

Xian Zhiming saw that Li Haonan showed no sign of stopping his assault after a while, and noticed that Li An's cries of pain sounded less exaggerated. Unable to hold back any longer, he rushed over regardless, only for his thick back to receive a couple of heavy blows from Li Haonan.

Protecting Li An, Xian Zhiming gritted his teeth and shouted, "Are you really going to hit him Use such force on a kid!"

"Who let him go astray, thinking about all these underhanded tricks every day." Being his own son, Li Haonan wouldn’t beat him to death, but he still kicked Li An once before finally stopping.

Gu Xiaobei looked at the battered and bruised Li An with disappointment. Sighing, she turned around and went to the hospital with Li Yi and Yan Luoxi together.

The first day of the family reunion meeting ended with Yan Luoxi losing two shiny front teeth and Li An getting a thorough beating.

The doctor told Yan Luoxi that the teeth she lost were baby teeth, which would be replaced by permanent ones soon. However, she was still quite upset because without her two front teeth, she felt even more reluctant to open her mouth to speak.

Gu Xiaobei was very fond of her and bought her a new schoolbag before transferring her to the best elite school in the city.

No matter whether they were elites or not, Li An and his relatives and friends all studied at this school. Every morning, their family car would take Yan Luoxi and Li An to school together, and pick them up separately after their different dismissal times in the evening.

Within two days of arriving at this school, Yan Luoxi found out that despite his young age, Li An was also a small bully in their K-12 elite school. He could walk proudly ahead of everyone, speak loudly and confidently, distribute tasks slowly but surely to the crowd with an air of authority, and even though he was much younger than most other students, they seemed quite obedient towards him.

When Yan Luoxi noticed this phenomenon, she felt anxious for several days in a row. She really feared that Li An would come up with more schemes to harm her at school.tor entered with several department heads and head nurses. He greeted Li Yi first and then personally conducted a routine examination for Li An. With solemn seriousness, he instructed his subordinates...
