Chapter 2: Ironclad Evidence

ngtao""No." Yan Luoxi replied dejectedly.Xue Liping is so shrewd! She must know something, but she pulls me over and says with a sigh, "Ah, men who work outside the home will inevitably encounter situ...Chapter 2: Irrefutable Evidence

Lian, thinking that the child in Yan Luoxi’s womb might be his, was so excited that he suddenly sat up from lying down, a smile breaking out on his face.

The little girl is best at lying. Shao Junhe is straightforward and honest; it would be too easy for her to deceive him.

Yan Luoxi could claim she was drunk after that night and say the child belongs to someone else, but what she says might also be a lie.

With this new idea in mind, Lian couldn’t stay lying down anymore. He got up from bed and walked excitedly back and forth, pondering how to start his investigation to uncover the truth.

Lian had always been cunning since childhood; he was just stunned by Yan Luoxi and Shao Junhe’s relationship before, hence acting foolishly without thinking clearly. Now, with his sharp mind working at full speed again, he grabbed his phone and made a call.

He instructed someone to immediately investigate where exactly Yan Luoxi got drunk the night they argued, whom she met, and what happened.

This little girl appears submissive on the surface but is more stubborn than anyone else; her mouth could be called an iron tongue and steel teeth. Unless he presents irrefutable evidence in front of her, she won’t explain anything to him even if the child is his.

After making the call, Lian rang for a servant to bring food and drink right away. Just moments ago, he felt utterly hopeless, but now he urgently needed to replenish his strength so that he could quickly recover.

If the child in Yan Luoxi’s womb is indeed his, things might become easier. Considering her unborn child, she would probably give him some leeway; he must be mentally prepared and energetic to win back Yan Luoxi and bring them both home.

If the child in Yan Luoxi's womb was not his, he would be even more determined to use every possible means to win her back and make up for any harm done to her with a lifetime of love. He would also strive to take good care of that child.

Li An felt much better after eating something. He went into the bathroom to avoid getting his injured arm wet, carefully washed himself, and shaved off all the stubble on his face. The young man looked handsome and striking again, full of energy and vitality.

After leaving the bathroom, Li An picked up his phone and saw that no one had replied yet. Unable to hold back, he muttered curses to himself: "These idiots! They make such a fuss about looking into something; they should all be sent home tomorrow to entertain their children. These fools, these useless people..."

"Who are you cursing again"

A soft yet irritated voice suddenly sounded from behind Li An. Startled, he turned around and saw Gu Xiaobei had walked in without him noticing.

“Oh my gosh, Mom! You don't know that scaring someone can be deadly Why didn’t you knock before coming in” Li An looked at his mother with a mix of resentment and distress.

"Why should I knock" Gu Xiaobei's face darkened; she gave an icy laugh: "Then why didn’t you tell me beforehand that you were bullying Yan Luoxi!"

When Li An heard his mother say this, the slight smile on his face vanished, turning pale.

In those days when he had treated Yan Luoxi badly, his actions had been rash and impulsive. Later, he regretted it but also feared being found out by his mother who certainly wouldn't be lenient with him if she knew the whole story.

Now that his mother suddenly mentioned this, she must have learned about everything and was here to settle accounts. Fortunately, his father, her ever-loyal guardian, wasn’t with her.

"Mom, I'm sorry, I was wrong." Li An lowered his head, still towering over Gu Xiaobei.

Gu Xiaobei saw Li An's appearance and felt angry. She snorted lightly, "I heard that you just ate a lot"

"Yes."

"Are you full"

"Yes, I am." Li An was chilled to the bone by his mother's concerned questions but dared not refute her and could only nod obediently.

"Kneel down for me!" Gu Xiaobei's voice suddenly turned icy cold.

Li An was taken aback. His mom had always been kind and gentle since he was young, never counting things against him. It was the first time she asked him to kneel in all his life.

Under his mother’s sternly angry gaze, without hesitation, he knelt down with a thud.

Taking advantage of Li An looking up at her expression, Gu Xiaobei didn't hesitate for a moment and raised her palm, giving him two resounding slaps on the face. Li An's pale face instantly turned red and swollen with clear red fingerprints.

Li An hadn't expected his mother to hit him and even less so that she would be this ruthless towards him. He knew he deserved it but after the initial shock, he looked up to admit his mistake, "Mom, I know I was wrong. You can hit me or scold me, just please don’t hurt your health!"

"Stop being hypocritical and insincere. If you cared about my body and feelings, how could you do something so heartless and immoral to Luo Xi If you really cared for me, you wouldn't have run to the Golden Triangle to look for ways to end your life!"

Gu Xiaobei glared at her spoiled son Li An. If he weren't her biological child, she would definitely tell Li Haonan to break his legs or even get rid of him completely so that he wouldn’t cause more trouble in the world.

This boy was simply infuriating.

After Gu Xiaobei returned from Beijing, Li Haonan took her abroad on vacation. He pampered her and Li Yi protected her; they only told her good news and kept any bad news away from her so she could enjoy a carefree life. She thought that once she knew Li Haonan had taken care of Yan Luoxi and Zhou Guangtao, the matter would be concluded.

She had wanted to call Yan Luoxi to ask about his condition before but felt extremely guilty after considering what Li An did to him previously. From their encounter in Beijing, it was clear that Yan Luoxi distanced himself from her.

Li Haonan arranged Gu Xiaobei's life so full every day that she forgot all about calling Yan Luoxi while hesitating. The last news she heard was about Li An going missing in the Golden Triangle.

Gu Xiaobei and Li Haonan hurried back when they heard about Li An’s disappearance, and everyone had been trying their best to find him these days. Nobody mentioned Yan Luoxi or what happened between them before. Gu Xiaobei still didn’t know what exactly transpired.

When everyone gathered downstairs after finding out that Li An was safe, Gu Xiaobei learned through the conversation that Li Haonan, Li Yi, and Li An had been keeping things from her.

The moment she heard about Li An’s cruel act towards Yan Luoxi again, she trembled with fury. Li Haonan panicked beside her and kept calling out to calm her down: "Wife, wife, don’t get angry! I’ll deal with that little brat afterward!"

In a fit of rage, Gu Xiaobei pushed Li Haonan away and cursed him and Li An as accomplices. She believed all the cold-blooded cruelty in Li An came directly from Li Haonan.ack to Li An for help. She could only walk around while glancing sideways in hopes of spotting Li An's car.Yan Luoxi walked and looked; it was when she didn't know how many times she turned back that...
