After the meal, Yan Luoxi and Zhou Guangtao changed into casual wear and chatted while tidying up the house. Zhou Guangtao took on all the dirty and strenuous tasks, leaving Yan Luoxi to handle washing.

In half a morning, they managed to clean both inside and outside of their home spotlessly. After finishing the cleaning, both were exhausted and did not cook at home; instead, they went down to grab some fast food before heading straight to a nearby large supermarket.

The residence provided by Li Haonan could be considered well-furnished, but it wasn't fully equipped for immediate入住。They selected two batches of basic living supplies from bedroom to kitchen in the supermarket. Only then did the spacious room look somewhat like home.

Yan Luoxi knew that Zhou Guangtao had a lot on his mind and was not really interested in picking out these household items, so she suggested they could call it quits for now and go explore nearby commercial areas. They should buy what's missing at home when they have time.

Upon hearing this, Zhou Guangtao immediately perked up from his absent-minded state and eagerly took Yan Luoxi to the car.

Li Haonan had thought of everything for them; not only did he provide accommodation but also a vehicle—an eight-ninths new Honda that was extremely suitable for their current status.

It was already dusk when they set off in the car. However, the streets were still bustling and vibrant. Seeing the hurried pedestrians and vehicles passing by, Zhou Guangtao couldn't help but show an excited expression on his face.

A city that is developing at such a rapid pace with a fast-paced lifestyle—wasn't this exactly what he had been looking forward to

In the afternoon, Zhou Guangtao made several calls to contact his classmates and friends in this city. As he drove around, he continued talking on the phone, sharing his ambitious plans with those on the other end.

In contrast to Zhou Guangtao's eagerness, Yan Luoxi was more bewildered, unsure of how to proceed. The golden hues of the setting sun swayed uncertainly on the car windows in the gentle breeze, while the flamboyant flowers and willows lining the streets waved arrogantly in the evening wind—much like her undefined and indescribable feelings.

The next morning, Zhou Guangtao set out full of confidence. Yan Luoxi did not accompany him today; she merely saw him off to the ground floor, watching as he cheerfully got into his car, turned on the air conditioner, gave her a thumbs-up and smiled brightly at her.

During their flight over, Zhou Guangtao had discussed with Li Haonan that this time around, he wanted to stick to his old line of work—founding an investment company. In today's climate where investment companies are everywhere, for a young person to establish and run one successfully was extremely challenging.

True to his reputation as a business powerhouse, Li Haonan easily analyzed the pros and cons of founding an investment company. Currently, there weren't many genuine investment projects in China; most were more bark than bite.

The overall economic environment greatly affected investment companies. The range of financial services was still relatively limited compared to international standards, and the market was a mix of authentic and fake offerings. Investment companies also had to abide by certain government policies that prohibited them from participating in specific business sectors.

However, the most effective way to address these issues would be for Zhou Guangtao to establish a joint venture company as he did previously. He could contribute the majority of the capital while introducing a portion of government and foreign investments. This would allow their new enterprise to operate free from certain governmental restrictions and foster mutual benefits between domestic and international economies.

Establishing such a joint venture was even more challenging than founding an investment company alone. While Li Haonan could provide Zhou Guangtao with substantial capital and extensive networks, Zhou Guangtao still faced considerable obstacles in getting the company up and running smoothly.

Yan Luoxi watched as Zhou Guangtao left without much worry; she had always felt an inexplicable certainty that he was never meant to be a follower. No matter how unfamiliar the environment or difficult the circumstances, she believed he would seize opportunities and achieve success.

After Zhou Guangtao left, the house seemed suddenly quiet. Yan Luoxi wandered around aimlessly for a while before tidying up and heading out.

Yan Luoxi thought that although she might not be needed initially when Zhou Guangtao was preparing to open his company, once it was ready to start operations, he would certainly need manpower. She wanted to help Zhou Guangtao.

Determined to start a business with Zhou Guangtao and share both the hardships and joys, just like in many TV dramas, so that their marriage would be meaningful when they look back on it.

Yan Luoxi went downstairs with a pen and notebook. She bought a map of this city from a nearby newsstand and started by familiarizing herself with its layout.

In this rapidly developing city, taking the subway was much more convenient than buses or taxis, but to understand the terrain and get acquainted with the city, she had no choice but to choose public transportation.

Yan Luoxi first chose to ride along the main thoroughfares of the city. On the bus, she looked around, noting down important government agencies, large shopping malls, commercial buildings, and companies along the way.

With a resolve to stand by Zhou Guangtao through thick and thin, lunchtime slipped by unnoticed while she was immersed in her surroundings. When her stomach growled, she realized it was already 3 PM.

That day, she spent almost all of her time on noisy buses and had forgotten to check her phone. When she finally looked at the time, there were over twenty missed calls from Zhou Guangtao.

Yan Luoxi thought that something urgent must have happened for him to call so many times. She hurriedly returned his call; after only two rings, Zhou Guangtao answered, sounding somewhat anxious and hoarse: "Luoxi! Where are you Why didn't you answer the phone"

"I... I was on the bus, it's too noisy here, I didn't hear the phone..."

"You... Do you know how worried I am!"

Zhou Guangtao, who is usually gentle and refined, actually sounded somewhat frustrated. Yan Luoxi paused for a moment before realizing the reason behind his anxiety and guiltiness grew even stronger. She repeatedly said, "Sorry, Brother Guangtao, really sorry, I... didn't hear the phone."

"Alright, tell me where you are, I'll come pick you up." Zhou Guangtao sounded exhausted.

Yan Luoxi looked around and softly replied, "I'm almost home. Let's meet at the bus stop by our neighborhood entrance."

"Okay, remember to stay put when you get off the bus," Zhou Guangtao reminded her one last time.

"Alright."

Yan Luoxi’s cheerful mood was ruined completely by this call. She didn't blame Zhou Guangtao for his worry and reproach but instead thought about the person who caused all of this—Li An.

If it weren't for Li An, she wouldn’t need to leave her hometown with Zhou Guangtao and come to this entirely unfamiliar city; if it weren't for Li An, they wouldn’t have had to start their business from scratch in such harsh conditions; if it weren't for Li An, Zhou Guangtao would not be so easily frightened and nervous, reacting strongly even at the slightest disturbance.tion. Thus, he couldn't help but take out all of his resentment on Yan Luoxi.Yan Luoxi wasn’t stupid; she knew that Lian didn’t like her. She regretted leaving Aunt Liu and Brother Zhou and coming her...
