"Li Yiqu How did you end up here" Li Haonan stood majestically at the door, his sharp gaze fixing on Li Yiqu who was standing in the living room. He then gave a cold chuckle, "You're here to warn your brother, right Where's Li An

When Yan Luoxi heard Li Haonan's voice, she quickly raised her head from Gu Xiaobei's arms and timidly called out, "Uncle Li, hello!"

Li Haonan was in his middle age but he still exuded an imposing and handsome presence that continued to charm countless noble ladies.

Although he had been furious at first, when he turned to look at Yan Luoxi's face, his expression softened and his voice became more gentle as he said, "Luoxi, it's been a few years since we last met. You've grown into a young lady!" His gaze then softened even further when it met Gu Xiaobei’s eyes.

Although Li Haonan had always treated Yan Luoxi kindly over the years, she still feared him greatly due to the unique aura of authority and ruthlessness that he carried from having been at the top for a long time in his life within the triad world.

Lying hidden inside was Li An. Upon seeing both his parents had arrived, knowing there was no escape, he dejectedly jumped out of the room. Gu Xiaobei saw that his son’s leg was bound with metal plates and couldn't help but ask in surprise, "Son, what happened to your leg When did you get hurt Is it serious"

Li Haonan had been seething all along on the way here, silently grinding his teeth. As soon as he saw Li An, he was determined not to let him off with just a warning; he would give him a good beating so that he would understand the consequences of his actions in the future.

But when he actually saw his son limping and looking dejected, how could he bring himself to do it He merely said in a harsh tone, "He deserves to have a limp. If not for this injury, wouldn't he have caused even more trouble"

When Gu Xiaobei heard Li Haonan's words, she immediately understood his intentions and also put away her maternal feelings towards Li An. She glared fiercely at her unambitious son before turning to look at Yan Luoxi beside her, feeling a mix of guilt and an indescribable sense.

In fact, the entanglements between men and women are often trite, boiling down to matters of love; but why were these two children behaving so badly!

When Li Haonan was young, he had experienced too many storms and twists in life. When he grew slightly older, he became tired of the deceitful machinations in both the江湖 (underworld) and business circles.

The heavens seemed to have noticed his weariness and bestowed upon him an extraordinarily talented eldest son. By Li Yi's sixteenth or seventeenth year, he was already capable of shouldering half the responsibilities of the family empire.

With one half of the empire supported by his capable son and the other half by the company’s veterans, Li Haonan was content to lead a carefree life. Accompanied by his young wife and friends, he traveled around the world, settling for periods in places that appealed to him.

During Li Haonan's leisurely travels around the globe, it was occasionally his younger son Li An who added small troubles to his life. He often hugged Gu Xiaobei with exaggerated affection, wishing aloud how wonderful it would be if this unlucky child were a daughter instead!

Their family could then have an adorable and obedient daughter, living by the sea under warm spring sunshine.

Over these years, Li Haonan had worried much about his younger son. During the first two years when Li An arrived in Beijing, he kept people watching over him out of fear that this reckless boy would cause irreparable trouble in such a sensitive place as the capital city.

Later on, he noticed that although this young man was cunning and knew to hold back from causing too much trouble in the politically intricate city. Li Haonan thought the child had grown up and learned his limits, so he stopped sending people to follow him.

Who would have thought that just half a year after he stopped having people keep an eye on Li An, Li An managed to get into such serious trouble, nearly driving him mad with anger!

When he first received Zhou Guangtao's call, Li Haonan found it hard to believe. How could Li An end up entangled with Yan Luoxi Moreover, wasn't Luoxi supposed to have been taken away by her mother Why did she run into Li An in the capital

After slightly using his connections and looking into the matter, he found out that this had been going on for many years. The reason why Li An was able to get away with it all these years was mainly due to having a good older brother who would clean up after any messes and cover up lies for him.

When the investigation results were clear, it might have been the most awkward period in Li Haonan's life. He initially didn't want to tell Gu Xiaobei this heartless truth, but then thought that if he couldn't keep it from his wife, it would be better to come clean now rather than face a big quarrel later.

However, when confessing, he withheld information and did not reveal that Li Yi was Li An's accomplice, having let Yan Luoxi go years ago and then lying about her being taken away by her mother.

Li Haonan dared not tell Gu Xiaobei everything out of fear that it might backfire on him.

Between the two sons, at least one had to be good. If Gu Xiaobei found out both were so despicable and evil, she would surely be disappointed and trace things back, potentially blaming him for passing on bad genes.

After years of marriage, Li Haonan knew well about Gu Xiaobei's little quirks. She could be casual with others but liked to take everything out on him, always getting angry at the slightest dissatisfaction and making him sleep in the study room.

Carefully and lightly, Li Haonan recounted what happened between Li An and Yan Luoxi to Gu Xiaobei, who was known for her beauty and happiness but rarely involved herself in others' affairs.

The process of this matter, although Li Haonan mentioned it briefly, still made Gu Xiaobei furious upon hearing about it. She sighed repeatedly, wondering how she could have given birth to such an unfilial son!

After a quick discussion between the couple, they hurriedly returned from abroad. Unexpectedly, Li Yi had somehow heard of this and arrived even earlier than them.

Limited by Li Haonan's sharp and intimidating gaze, Li An felt somewhat uneasy inside. He was at a loss on how to respond in his panic and had an ominous premonition.

He rubbed his face awkwardly and smiled: "Dad, Mom, why did you come without notifying me first I would have gone to pick you up."

"You would go pick us up Knowing we are coming, wouldn’t you run away faster than anyone else" Li Haonan's low voice was filled with anger as he spoke sternly.

"Of course, I’d run faster than anyone to pick you up!"

Li Haonan detested Li An’s slick talk the most. Thinking of what Li An had done, his heart boiled with rage and malice; a surging anger welled up in his eyes and surged towards Li An.

Li An immediately realized that something was terribly wrong. He hadn’t expected his father to flip out even at his age.

He saw his father clenching his fist so tightly that the knuckles had turned pale, clearly trying to restrain himself.lling behind because of the elevator timings.
